I literally dreamt about brushes last night. I have a lot of nice ones, but they are all the same sorta. The dream must have ment I need to go buy a few speciality brushes. I saw a brush by Chanel at Macy's for eye shadow that I can't find on the Chanel website otherwise I would link to it. Bare Minerals also has a few brushes I would like and were even in my dream haha.
A shopping journey seems to be in order

Amber!!
My first photo shoot. My friend Amber volunteered to be my model and what came from it was great! I conceived the whole idea for the shoot, did her make-up, picked and supplied costumes. It was a real blast
So I tried to completely cover-up my eyebrows last night using spirit gum. Did not work at all!! Smelt crappy and took forever to dry and barely did anything! I read on some forums glue works better. Most people suggested glue sticks, but I also think regular glue from the squeeze bottle would work well too. Tonight I'm going to buy one of each and see which works better.

Even more opportunities
So today when I got home from school I had two emails in my inbox. One from Heather, telling me she she enjoyed our meeting and continued to bounce ideas on photoshoots off each other.
The second email was from a guy I've talked to a few times named Pete. He has a friend named Ashley who is an aspiring model and wanted to get a photo shoot together. She's been featured on his website and seems very creative so I'm extremely excited about working with these two.
I told Pete I wanted to try something things out, because I've had a few ideas rolling around in my brain. So tonight, I'm working on a way to completely conceal the eyebrow. I'll keep you posted!!

Introductions...
Hello, and welcome!! My name is Lauren Pedigo, or Lolo as my instructor affectionately calls me. I'm 24 years old and I attend Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing, MI where I study esthiology. I started in November of 2010.
Next week is a very big week for my educationally. It's the week where I start taking what I've learned and apply it in the spa, working on customers, doing facials and what not.
A few weeks ago I saw a poster in the break-room at school for a contest called Beacon. I remember that Liza entered the contest when she went here last year and I model for her portfolio. I already really want to build my make-up portfolio, but this gives me an even better excuse to hustle with it. The deadline is March 1st I believe? I can totally make this work.
Since I already wanted to build my make-up portfolio I posted an ad on Craigslist for a photographer who wants to do the same. I got an overwhelming number of responses. Out of them all I really like two of them. One is a woman named Heather who generally does weddings, engagement, trash the dress shoots and so on. The other one I have not yet met in person, but he seems very promising.
So I met Heather the other day for the first time at Biggby's coffee here in East Lansing. Her work is lovely and professional. We discussed what I want to gain from this partnership and what we could do together business wise. She said it would be nice to have an on-call make-up artist for clients that would like that, and I personally love the idea!! I also told her about Beacon and what it's about, when the deadline is and such. She said she would be more then happy to help me with that! I'm so excited.
So my homework for the week-end is to contact all of my modely looking friends, see what days work for them and what days work for Heather and me and try to get everyone together in one day. It will be easier on Heather and myself if we just cranked it out in one setting.
My other assignment is to experiment with make-up more. I have been wanting to hot glue my eyebrows down to see how well and smooth it will look. It's a trick I've always wanted to try :)
Well I must take my leave and get ready for work at David's Bridal, then school from 5-10.
::SIGH:: I just want to play with my new make-up palette all day :(
